Upon entering Polish airspace, the flight will be escorted by 4 F16s of the Polish air force. In the next few weeks several flights will be flown within Europe for crew training, substituting regular flights.

Thank you for posting the radar link. I was trying to find it and I could not. The plane is expected to do a low fly by before landing in WAW. LOT is also introducing a new product called Economy Club with reclining chairs and dedicated crew. Specially trained crew is also dedicated to business class.

last check LO will have 2/3 x 787's by early JAN 2013
LOT Polish Airlines - 2 deliveries
ZA270 (LN 61, SP-LRA) - November
ZA271 (LN 78, SP-LRB) - December
LOT Polish Airlines' 787 deliveries. The first contractual delivery of ZA270 (LN 61, SP-LRA) is tentatively scheduled for November 9th. This aircraft will remain in Everett for about 5 days for crew training before flying to Warsaw on the 14th.
Future deliveries flights of LOT's other 787s to Warsaw are scheduled as follows:
ZA271 (LN 78, SP-LRB) - delivery to Warsaw is in early January 2013 (probably contractual delivery in late December 2012)
The other three in production are to be delivered at monthly intervals during the first quarter of 2013 but they will all be waiting in Everett in storage

Quoting spiritair97 (Reply 5): Thanks! Are they going to have a second aircraft by then or are they going to do what ET is doing and send it to each destination 1-2x a week?
They will not do that, hence a spread of commencement dates on various routes from January 16 through March 3rd.
They expect o have 5 787s by March and additional 3 a some point during summer of 2013. They will probably start NRT in October 2013. Also PEK will be expanded to daily service by next summer.

Quoting Luniew (Reply 4): Chicago January 16th
Toronto February 1st
New York February 3rd
and Beijing March 3rd
I looked at a flight from WAW to YEG via YYZ in March, and not sure why but only Economy Flex as the "highest" class comes up on their website. I guess due to codeshare with AC, but I'd figure that there would be an option for something better even if connecting on a codeshare partner later on.

Quoting SXDFC (Reply 9): 2.) When will the phase out begin for the 767s?
The 767s (now 3 or 4 of them still flying) will start leaving the fleet as more dreamliners arrive. By April 2013, the start of the summer flight schedule, there ought to be no more 767s flying for LOT.

So I'm guessing none of the 787s will have special name's and emblems near the nose like the 767s did?

That's actually March 2013 when the last 767 will leave LOT. SP-LPA is goe and the SP-LPC was just sold for parts (this is the one that had emergency landing) and I think one will leave in Jan, one in Feb and the last one in March.
25 hoya: So they're down to only 3 long-haul aircraft? How will they manage their schedule until all the 787s arrive? Are they still leasing the AeroSvit 767?
26 konrad: Three 767s are enough for the winter timetable. Starting from mid-January the 787s will start operating selected flights.
