With all the financial problems SAS is going through, I assume their SFO route probably will not happen?

Still bookable and showing in GDS. So until the airline states it is cancelled, it still on.

This is the third time since 2000 that SAS tried to launch SFO.

I have tickets booked on that route for July, they have been booked for a while now so I hope that SAS keeps flying. I believe they will, for Norway I feel the alternartive to SAS Norwegian is a terrible airline, I try to avoid them at all cost, I keep on having bad experiences with them.

SAS have said that as part of restructuring, they are expanding routes, and CPH-SFO is part of this restructuring.

So as long as they don't go bankrupt (I personally don't think this will happen), the route will start (of course there are other things that can stop it, etc.)

They have actually mentioned other expansions which doesn't seem like something a struggling airline would do (such as implement lounge and fast track access for domestic operations at OSL), and they see expansion and improvement as a way to secure business travellers back from the likes of DY.

Of course, there are many details to be finalized and a lot can change, but personally I hope they do survive and bring in the added routes and particularly the domestic OSL lounge.

They keep on misplacing my baggage, 8 times in 40 or so flights, whereas SAS have only done this twice in over 300 flights, they are also pretty good at not leaving on time and delaying me. Amen to that, a domestic lounge at OSL would be fantastic, along with FF points for domestic travel.

on some routes they are cheaper. They are at war with SAS on AAL to CPH, very naturally of course to win the danes over for mediumhaul too! But I always travel with handluggage mostly, and even the few times with bags have not presented a problem. Maybe tell them in an email that your perception of them , and many other peoples too, are that their bags are lost with them often. They might look into it then. Honestly baghandlers are devils in most countries, but in Denmark they are really nice to me, as they know me in AAL and CPH. And in all honesty, i dont know how the bags are handled in stockholm, oslo etc. but i would imagine its the same as Novia in cph... and then SAS personnel deal with their own bags maybe. Wages must be different and sucky if they keep screwing you over :O

Another thing, their on time departure always changes. But for what i've seen, i never arrive more than 15 minutes late. They usually catch up! Norwegian will try to screw over SAS as hard as possible as revenge for old grudges. Just how it is. SAS are stupid to not have done fleetmodernisation 10 years ago. They could EASILY before sept. 11th done something to strengthen themselves, but danish/nordic mentality is like "ahhh, all is good and fine, lets just keep it that way, make money now, worry later" .... sooo stupid...

I even wrote them on SAS FBwall, and asked them, are their AVOD being changed soon, and they replied no. I then booked a TK asia tour of 20000 miles or so, credited to my M&S Card with TK. They might keep ignorant tourists or businessguys from ages ago, who are oblivious to what they fly on, or don't care about their personal tv etc. I chose TK for service inflight, something SAS has neglected for ages. But I do hope they recover, as they would (with a complete vanish) drive up the prices on Norwegian, due to lack of competition. Already after Cimber folded, the prices are up on SAS, and norwegian too.

I had to laugh though, how often I find ... hmm, lets just say Prague, a typical nice city trip for 3-4 days, i went to search prices... 400 pounds returntrip, are they bloody off their heads ? even sas was cheaper.

I'm booked on Wednesday August the 14th 2013 and my BRU-CPH-SFO has been rebooked as BRU-CPH-ORD-SFO!

Either that means a decrease of frequency or something else! In any case I need to complain as a 2 stop flight is deffo not what I like/want/need!

Need to contact Orbitz for that! By the way when I booked I did a multi-city with different origin-destinations. SAS wouldn't let me book such a ticket whereas Kayak clearly showed that it was bookable. I ended up booking through Orbitz which let me...

- Chapter 7 - Full Bankruptcy - liquidation, i.e. close of business

- Chapter 11 - Bankruptcy protection, a corporation can continue operations protected from creditors, permitting a restructuring and relaunch.

- Chapter 13 - Bankruptcy protection for indivduals.

Not entirely true in the case of the UK actually Administration need NOT lead to closure or immediate trading cessation.

Restructuring can be allowed. however since they end up loosing credit lines already having drained cash flows mounting tax demands and extortionate Administration charges made on the business in fact the practitioners seem more interested in:

Sale of assets trade name intellectual property and immediate mass redundancy (this costs them nothing because statutory redundancy is recoverable from the state !)

Their prime objective is getting what monies owed in paying taxman and themselves and screwing everyone else !
