Turkish Airlines 9M Profit Soars

TK has reported that its profit for Jan-Sep 2012 has risen 665% to 868m TL (462m $) on revenues of 11.2 bn TL (6.22 bn $) up 30%.

How possible is that? It means they earned ~7 times more money this year than in 2011? So what was their profit last year, around 60 million dollars? That's surprising taking into account all the risky new routes started this year but it would mean the risk is paying of. Wonder on what routes they increased revenue the most.

To add to that, I don't remember the last route TK stopped flying last.
What routes TK quit within the last couple of years??? Anyone??

By the way, the stock price doubled within the last year.

AFAIK none of the new destinations were stopped, in contrary they get more frequencies or get direct links when it was only a tag on.

The only destination I can remember that was stopped was Strasbourg some years ago.....
