Indian Aviation's Downfall?

Jet airways today announced temporary suspension of it DEL-MXP route.
With this yet another international destination is cut short from the not so big list.
Kingfisher airlines is in all kinds of financial troubles and the future does not look too bright for them either.
Air india is still an unbalanced an airlines as ever.Corruption is only ruining its future.
Any thoughts any one on how Indian Aviation is going to shape up in the coming few years?
Maybe with the arrival of the 787-8 Air India might recover?
Chances are less until air india is removed from the hands of the corrupt government officials.
It is nothing but a milking cow for them.

Nothing makes sense about the Indian aviation market. Of course a large part of it is the govt sticking their dirty hands into everything, but otherwise IT, 9W and the likes either are hamstrung or have flawed models. I.e. what is 9W going for with a route like DEL-MXP? I can't imagine yields are great, plus where are they getting feed at MXP? Doesn't make sense. And with IT's demise, there still is not one Indian airline in an alliance. Why wouldn't 9W suck it up and join ST or ow - why are they so stuck on star? And then there are players like Indigo who seem to have it together somewhat, but they seem more focused on domestic/regional routes on narrowbodies rather than trying to fight for the basement fares on int'l routes.

Indian aviation is doing very well thank you. Look at the real carriers of traffic to/from India for that - like MEB3, the LH group, SQ, BA et.al. AI/ 9W and the rest are good only for domestic flights (and some specific O&D from BOM and DEL), for everything else, we rely on international carriers!

Western firms outsource their IT operations to Indian IT firms because they get quality at a price they are willing to pay. India bound travelers outsource their intl travel to Non-Indian airlines precisely for the same reasons - we get quality (includes connectivity) at a price we're willing to pay for. The world is flat in that sense.

9W really should just give up on it's pretense of being the next SQ or EK, and stick to being a domestic carrier. AI - it's anyway a vanity project of the GoI, and hence does not count.

The cost of ATF.....
The traffic holding time adding to fuel burn.
The steep parking and navigation charges.
The high taxes.
Poor mgmt

all together add to the situation.
