Like every year at the same period, I'm back on this forum, to remember the accident of Avianca flight 011. it was during the night of november 27th, 1983, the Avianca Boeing 747-283B combi, registered HK-2910X was operating the route Paris-Madrid-Caracas-Bogota.
After 90 minutes flying from Paris-CDG airport, the airliner was preparing for landing in Madrid-Barajas airport, and sadly crashed at only 45 seconds from its landing on RWY 33.

181 persons died including the crew, and 11 passengers survived.

29 years after

RIP to those passengers who didn't survive

Thanks for always keeping the memory of Flight 011 alive. Are you still writing a book about the accident?

yes, now it is finished, I will visit the editor at the end of the month. It is a book for the memory of flight AV011 and mainly for the memory of these 181 victims.

The book will be in French language, and the title will be "La tragédie du vol Avianca 011", but I will try to obtain the publishing in Spanish and English, nothing is sure, but I will do my best. The cause was the wrong altitude...

Here's the front cover.

Wiki is not complete, not at all, and Aviation-safety gives the big lines, but doesn't give any detail about the crew and the flight starting the day before in Bogota. So, the book will give all the chronology second by second...

Please don't forget them. This evening will be the anniversary date of the last flight of Avianca Boeing 747 HK-2910X "Olafo". 181 persons died in this accident, and there is still nothing on the crash site. I can't believe it...
