PAN Am GIG-MIA-MCO In 1989 - Information Needed

Hi Guys, I am trying to recollect my flights from a while back and I guess some of you can help me out.

I flew with a PAN AM 747 on January 14, 1989 from GIG to MIA, then on January 15 from MIA to MCO. On the return it was MCO-MIA on January 23 and then MIA to GIG on January 26, 1989 also on a 747.

My questions are:
- Did it make a stop in GRU on the way in or back?
- What are Flight numbers and departure/arrival times for all flights?
- What aircraft operated MIA-MCO (it was a layover of about 2hs) and which version?
- What version of a 747 was it?

I suppose it would be impossible to know the registration of the plane the operated so long ago, but would be nice as well...

According to my PA Jan 15, 1990 schedule

Flight 440 operated GRU-GIG-MIA-LAX-SFO 747-100/200 Depart 1159p Arr 510a GIG-MIA
Return
Flight 441 operated SFO-LAX-MIA-GIG-GRU Same Equip Depart 1159p Arr 1110a MIA-GIG

MIA-MCO Departed 720a Arr 822a flight 372 and shows 727 and A300 depending on day of week

MCO-MIA you have 2 choices depending on how long a connection you had at MIA

Flight 2098 Departed 315p Arr 416p A300
Flight 397 Departed 1005p Arr 1105p 727

By 1990 PA was operating 727-200s A300 A310 and 747-100/200s. Since you did not get a Tail number its hard to say what kind of 747 you were on. The A300 and 310 were used in North/Central and South America plus some Caribbean. The A310 was also used North Atlantic and in Europe.

I don't think anything changed from 1989 (when I flew) to 1990 (your schedule). Everything you said makes sense and matches my faded memories (I was 13 at the time).

The day of the weekend was Sunday for the MIA-MCO (definetly flight 372) and Monday for the MCO-MIA. We stayed a few days in MIA before returning to GIG. It was definetly 727 on the way in (1 corridor) and I think it could have been an A300 on the way back. I do think it was 2 corridors. I remember turning left for my seat since the flight was full some of us in the group were upgraded to business class, me included, making that a bigger plane with an entrance door right at the separation of the classes.

As for the 747 version, we will never know, I guess.

In 1989 I flew numerous times from Miami to Sao Paulo and back. It was a MIA-GIG-GRU route. To your question about stopping in GRU, the answer is no. GIG was the hub in Brazil at the time. PA's flights from MIA and from JFK would meet in GIG and then continue to GRU and to EZE. So it was non stop GIG-MIA and MIA-GIG for you.

1989-01-23 PAA2098 MCO MIA 15:15 16:16 A300
1989-01-14 PAA372 MIA MCO 07:20 08:22 B722
1989-01-13 PAA440 GIG MIA 23:59 05:10 B747

I only lack registration and 747 versions, but I know that is only possible if someone here was on the very same flight and took note. I think it would be better to choose winning the lottery (about the same odds) hehehehehe
