Once we see the WN/FL codesahre in 2013, will we see the switch to same flight numbers for both carriers?

For example

FL 2580 MDW-ATL on airtran metal would also be WN 2580 MDW-ATL.

If this done could we see the the elimination of the Citrus callsign similar to what happened with DL/NW?

With roughly 3,800 departures between the both carriers numbers it shouldn't be a issue if I calculated right they should be 9,996 different combinations for flight numbers leaving plenty of numbers to be used for (MX flights, Charters and Ferries). With 1 to 4 digit flight numbers.

Code share has no impact on callsigns. Codeshare is by definition a duplicate designation masking the "real" one.

That's not going to happen until the two airlines are fully merged and operating under one Certificate. Aircraft owned and operated by Southwest will still fly under the Southwest callsign and SWA code, Aircraft owned and operated by AirTran will still fly under the Citrus callsign and TRS code.

I'd take the awe of understanding over the awe of ignorance any day.

The aircraft are owned by Southwest.

They are on one certificate but they operate with what one might call a split certificate, I won't get into that though.
