Interesting that the seasonal flights from SEA seem to be off the table...I suppose that might have something to do with AM cutting service here a few years ago. Flights to MEX from LAX appear to be absent as well...

Can someone provide a link to the DOT docket regarding this because I don't find it. I've also not heard anything from the company about AS entering into an agreement with AM. Could be I just missed it but I don't see anything anywhere about this except for here.

When AM was serving SEA, wasn't AM hurtin' financially? Also, what makes you think that AM will not come back to SEA? A lot of the times, discontinuation of service is temporary...but could be discontinued for a significant period of time. Now that AM is making money and a possible prospect of another codeshare, I think AM's return is a real possibility.

Quoting Tomassjc (Reply 6): As these are already operated by AM, whereas the rest are not.
Probably should have connected the dots there...it was a long day!

SEA-MEX (or if I recall correctly, SEA-GDL-MEX) was probably worth a shot, but I think it's one of those routes that's about as long as it is thin. It was tried before on MX (and I think AM, too) and didn't pan out. I suspect the numbers will be there for it to work for someone in the next decade, but right now, it's probably hovering north of being a non-starter. An AM/AS codeshare on SEA-MEX certainly wouldn't hurt...

AM carried good loads on SEA-MEX from what I saw....but like SEA-CUN the fares likely couldn't justify the route. Would love to see MEX return...if anyone could make it work AS could with all the feed from AK, western Canada and the PNW.

Would a flight that was timed well for connectingto KE SEA-ICN and DL SEA-NRT/KIX/PEK/(upcoming)PVG stand a better chance of success?
I'm asking, I really don't know the amount of traffic between MEX and NE Asia.

Interesting news. I guess this proves the saying "if you cannot beat them, join them". This is good for AM passengers.

Back then, AM was not doing great because MX was still around (there was too much competition and MX was even waging a fare war), we had the H1N1 epidemic, the global financial crisis, etc. In any case, I think this "temporary suspesion" as you put it has lasted too long to be truly temporary... seems to me AM is not looking to return to SEA at the moment. I would love to see AM return to SEA when it starts receiving the 737MAXs but even that is not necessarily certain.

AM's MEX-SEA was nonstop. Maybe you are thinking of MX's MEX-GDL-SEA (a long time ago) or MX's MEX-GDL-PDX (not that long ago).

Maybe. However, demand for travel between Asia and Mexico is currently satisfied by AM's services to NRT and PVG via NRT. Flying to Asia via the U.S. and Canada is inconvenient for many Mexicans because of the visa requirements.
