This is very unusual for an Asian carrier's FA, let alone Cathay. People continually amaze me when they use social media in self-destructive ways. Posting the seat number? WOW! :

Do we know why the FA wanted throw coffee on her? Was Ms.Thaksin being targeted for her politics or acting like an entitled princess?

I guess the FA didn't have any real friends to vent to so she had to vent to her imaginary FB friends,

Stupid comment but obviously this happens not because of the comment but because the people was seated in that seat... did she know who was that person she was talking about??

I think is a good disciplinary action by CX and more and more we see this kind of stupid behavior on the social network with unnecessary pics and comments.

If she posted this on her own facebook page how did these online communities get a hold of it? I mean I obviously realize that anything you throw out on facebook, twitter and any type of social media then open you up to this sort of thing, but my fb page is set on very private settings so only my friends see what I post...unless a friend of hers then re-posted onto other Thai websites, which would be a damn shame.

Either way, a pity this had to happen but unfortunately a reality that Cathay had to let her go.

Many people on FB are not smart enough to set their privacy settings as such.

Here is her profile: http://www.facebook.com/honey.lochanachai?ref=ts&fref=ts

It now has presumably more privacy protections, and it appears to me (not being able to read thai) that there is some political content on there.

This is more like our (Thai) political issues with the Shinawatra family.
You won't understand her actions unless you are a Thai citizen living right here in the land of smile.

She was maybe out of line posting out seat number.

I'm not going to speak much as it might turn out that someone will track me down and do the same thing as they did to her.

Poor poor girl...

Let's just blame it on yields.

The FA definitely knew who the passenger was, having written on her Face Book page "I immediately told my flight manager I could not work knowing the daughter of my enemy was on the plane.'' She continued, "I called my personal adviser asking if it would be all right to throw coffee at Paetongtarn, but was told that this could breach Hong Kong's laws.'' Really? Good to know.

But she was also accused of posting not just the number of the seat in which Paetongtarn Shinawatra was sitting but an image of the passenger manifest. This is clearly unacceptable and worse then simply giving vent to an urge to chuck coffee at someone. I bet there are a few FAs who have felt the same at some time but at least they haven't been so crass as to publish confidential information on their FB page.

I cannot believe the degree of stupidity of this FA. Either she was willing/needed to be fired, or her mind needs some medication. Since I assume CX has pretty high sychological tests for their candidates I have to assume she wanted out. If not, then the series of books called "The Idiot´s guide to..." needs to produce one for Facebook ASAP. "The Idiot´s Guide to Facebook." i would call it.

Extremely poor judgement. When you are on the clock in a customer-facing role, you put you opinions in your back pocket. If it is impossible to contain yourself in a non-abusive situation, you are choosing to risk your employment. That simple. Choice then consequences.

Why do people care so much?

If someone wants to quit a shitty low-paying job in a very public way that embarrasses their employer, than kudos to them IMO.

I don't think any FA job around the world is exceptionally high paying. And, why would anyone in a lowish paying job want to accept abuse by over-entitled spoiled persons?

I might do the same thing...then again...my customer service days are long over...and I'm 26 LOL. Too old and make too much money for putting up with bs.

Please tell me, what did this person do to her? The answer is nothing except having the "wrong" last name.

BTW, did you see the top Reddit a day or two ago by what is almost certainly an EK FA? You can ask her any question she says. I'm wondering if her comments are real. She basically said she hooked up on nearly every trip. Seemed fake to me.
