Despite the rumblings from WN and AA fanboys, NK seems to be doing well at in the Metroplex (DAL/DFW)!

When you come in at such low fares it isn't hard to create a bit of a market. They also keep frequencies down so they aren't having to worry about a lot of unused capacity. DFW is now at 16 destinations. To my earlier point only 5 of those have more than 1 daily flight.

How many daily flights do they have at DFW now? 25-ish?

I wonder where the a/c availablility for these changes is coming from? I think I remember reading that they got their hands on a couple of additional planes recently so that is part of the answer but are there also some routes or frequencies being dropped in the system as well? (Always a good possibility with NK.)

Still, it's good for the Metroplex's airline market!

Speaking of new NK station openings, the signage is up at MSY...

They have 4 check in positions with space for more if they decided to expand.

From what I hear they are going to be operating out of Concourse C.

I didn't see anything about NK starting up PHL-DFW. Good for them. Now US and AA will have a little LCC competition.

Do not bring stranger girt into your room. The stranger girt is dangerous, it will hurt your life.

Per their Q3 earnings call they have 2 A320s due this month, and they picked up 3 A319s on lease - 1 this month and 2 arriving in January.

Plus in 2013 they have 9 additional A320 planned.

competition is good, and seemingly Dallas has proved to be a very strong market for NK.

We had a thread on it at the time.

NK has a bunch of DFW launches coming up.

In addition to the ones posted above:

New Orleans - January 24
Los Angeles - April 25
Oakland - April 25
Los Cabos - June 13
Latrobe - June 14

Thanks. Must be those new leases that are making these newly-announced and earlier launches possible. As pointed out, many routes in the first half of 2013 had already been announced and those, I assume, would account for most of the late-2012 and early-2013 scheduled a/c deliveries.
