Quoting LAXintl (Reply 1): There are no 744s on the schedule after December 1st per MH timetable.
Incorrect. MH keeps operating a single daily B744 rotation as MH123/122 KUL SYD KUL through February 2013. Last service currently planned as MH122 SYD KUL on March 01. Four frames have all been fairly recently deployed on this sole remaining route: 9M-MPK/L/M/P.

I don't have the informational on hand, but i read from a source that Malaysian Airlines have just recently ordered 6 A380-800s which brings its total A380 order to 12 aircrafts with 4 already delivered.

Quoting LAXintl (Reply 8): GDS shows EQV, not a 744 specifically, so yes it would be correct to say that no 744 are shown on the scheduled.
GDS shows daily B744 throug 28FEB from KUL and 01MAR from SYD, after which the flight reverts to B772. The flight is also scheduled to operate daily with B744 until this date. I don't know how you define a scheduled flight, but I believe this means a B744 is scheduled for this rotation every single day until 28FEB/01MAR.

We must be looking at different things -- shows EQV on mine.
Additionally the MH online timetable effective December 1st also shows EQV.

Obviously the flight would show EQV in a timetable through the end of March since it reverts to B772 on March 01. Until that time it operates with B744 daily.

If you look carefully at the linked schedule, any mid period equipment changes are well noted by MH.
For example MH141 KUL-SYD switches from 772 to 333 on March 6/7 and is reflected as such.
But the MH121 is shown as EQV for the entire schedule timeframe and does not reflect at any intended 744 use or swaps from 744 to 772 later in March if that was the intention.

Having just checked my info, you are correct in that Malaysian have just secured the financing of the 6 A380s which they ordered on the 11 December 2003.
The next A380 for Malaysian MSN94 9M-MNE is due for delivery this month December, with the 6th and final A380 from the current order MSN114 9M-MNF due for delivery during February 2013.

And if you look carefully at any day to day availability of this flight between now and February 28, then you will see that the flight is loaded as B744 until then every single day, and that also the corresponding seat map is loaded as 744 every single day. I honestly don't see how you can argue that
Quoting LAXintl (Reply 1): There are no 744s on the schedule after December 1st per MH timetable
as the aircraft is clearly still in scheduled operation at MH, operating scheduled flights every single day since the beginning ot eh NW time table came into effect and every single day until March 01, 2013.

I would imagine CASA would be very interested if aircraft with "spotty" mx operated services into SYD.
From other sources just this week:
"walked away from a purchase of 2x MAS B734 aircraft earlier this year; MAS couldn’t provide all the required technical history. One of those aircraft is now being scrapped in UK."
and
"QANTAS ended up having to retire an ex-MH 744 quite early after they discovered that the aircraft in fact had hidden (and serious) damage from some work done at MH years earlier."

I think he may have been jokingly alluding to DL's penchant for acquiring used aircraft of types they already have in the fleet, not making a serious statement.
