Does anyone know the runway and gate that LH456 will be using today.? I want to get there and set up early, possibly at the Proud Bird. I'm afraid that if I do, they will switch runways on me....

Usually we park on the South Side of the TBIT. So Parking stands 101-104 IIRC. Sometimes I parked on the north part as well.
Landing is a little different everytime I fly into LAX, and I fly there quite often. I landed on 24R and on 25L, and no matter which parking stand we had... So it will be a little lottery.

Flightaware is showing it as a B747-400, is it just an error?
It also shows D-ABYA which is definitely an -8 so must be an error.

Thanks to Wilco737 for that information.
The Lufthansa web site says 747-8i and there is an additional messed up entry on FA that refers to LH456 as a -8,but it is not the active flight shown. Typical flightaware......
My bet is parking at 134, more room for the festivities. Those two end gates for the A380 are kind of jammed when there are aircraft parked adjacent.
I'm just hoping for a 25L arrival..... I'll be monitoring approach on my scanner

Got there about an hour before arrival, and set up at my secret spot on 96th Street. Got some good (to me) arrival shots. Put one on my Flickr page, and will submit one to Airliners Caught the China Airlines Skyteam 747 while I was waiting, good day overall.....

I was supposed to be on that flight but with the snow in Germany, LH kept on delaying my inbound flight LYS-FRA making the connection impossible so they rebooked me on BA from LYS to LHR and then on to LAX...

I don't think so, United didn't put on a big event like LH did.
So they actually printed "Lufthansa B747-800" onto the cookies? Actually not as bad a mistake as their recent announcement of starting the A380 on MUC-YVR.

Does this have anything to do with why FRA-IAD was operated by a 744 today?
