Hi everybody:

In one month Varig will take the new delivery: a newest Boeing 777-200ER. Varig has ordered 4 Boeing 777-200ER.
I think that soon Varig will need to replace the Boeing 747-300, do you think that the Boeing 777-300 will be a good aircraft for the Varig fleet? ¿Maybe the 777-300ER?

What do you think about this idea?

B747-300 has been replaced by MD-11s.

B777-300ER can be a good choice for Varig, IMO.

Jiml1126:

In my opinion the Varig's MD-11 will remove in a few years more replacing with new 777s.

This may happen since Varig is a GE customer they may want to replace it's MD-11s with GE90 powered 777-300ERs.

Varig must replace the MD-11 from his fleet. I think the best idea is replace the MD-11 by new Boeing 777-200. The 777-300 is for replace the 747-300.

Hola,
I believe the MD-11 still works fine for
VARIG and is still considered new and quite
economical. I don't think they would be
replaced with B-777's any time soon.
The MD-11s would be rather complemented
than replaced.
Your theory would be possible only if
Boeing is taking "back" VARIG's MD-11's
towards payments for 777's, or if they have
found someone paying top Dollars for the
MD-11's.
I don't think Fedex would be taking them
at a good price for VARIG.
muchos saludos.

Advancedkid:

Probably Varig still consider the MD-11 like a excellent aircarft for their longhaul routes. If not why is the reason for the new leased MD-11.

Thanks for your comments, regards,
