On 19/12/12 was operating a flt to Moscow DME when i chanced to see this JAL 787 (first time for me to see her in the flesh....or plastic...in JAL colours   ) We were parked right next to her and the temperature was -22 degs Celsius. A few technicians were working furiously under her with her MLG gear door or some large access panel open.

After about a couple of hours the panel was closed and a service vehicle was pulled into the aft starboard side and what looked like a air conditioning hose was sent into the cabin through an open pax door. Though i am not entirely sure what it was. Seemed strange to me. any more info on this anybody?

Was this a scheduled flight in the first place?

Some low res pics....

Any info would be much appreciated...thanks.

Oh and it was nice to see the JAL 787 and the Emirates A380 almost next to each other at DME

Thanks for the info reg the scheduled service...but i am pretty sure they don't have a 5+ hour ground time. I came deadhead on the Emirates 380 and it departed in about an hour and half from DME whilst the JAL 787 was still parked. Apparently it had arrived way earlier than us. also the funny thing with the aft cabin door being open at -22 deg Celsius OAT with some tubes sticking into it form a ground service vehicle surely meant something was out of the ordinary.

From the time table in JAL's website JL441 arrives at DME 1600 local time and departs @ 1740 local time. When i saw it it was still on ground at next day early morning local 0300 hrs. SO we are looking at a delay of more than 10 hrs and counting at the time i departed DME!

That's the info that i am interested in now. thanks...

if you look @ http://flightaware.com/live/flight/JA825J, you'll see that it left Narita 7 hours behind schedule and spent 4 hours on the ground in Moscow. Frame has been in regular service before and since so nothing major in terms of technical issues.
