Hi all,

A friend of mine has a memory of DL historically flying ANC-FAI, possibly as SAN-LAX-SEA-ANC-FAI. Can anyone verify this? He thinks it was a 727.

Yes DL operated ANC-FAI. For example, in the April 2, 1995 OAG DL had one 757 and one 727-200 ANC-FAI daily. I think the 757 was a continuation of a flight from SLC and the 727 from SEA.

and to add (though off topic) Delta had JNU - FAI after the merger with Western. I remember going to JNU in 1987 and seeing the lone DL flight arrive from SEA and continue on to FAI.

I thought i remember Delta flying SLC/SEA-JNU-FAI or something like that. Also SLC-ANC-FAI at another point.

Back in the summer of 1991 one of my first trips as a DL FA was LAX-SEA-JNU-ANC-FAI. 727 trip, I remember the SO blew a train whistle during boarding.

I remember when I worked at SLC, that we had at least one of the ANC flights went on to FAI. Later the ANC-FAI became seasonal. We had 2 ANC flights, daily......first 727s, then 737-300s and then later 757s or 767s. Considering the cargo loads, most of the year, it should have been 767s all year round.

Not if you keep paying refunds on shipments because you fail to ride it.

When I worked for DL at DFW we had a 767 that flew DFW-LAX-ANC-FAI. That was the summer of 97 or 98.

Pipeline traffic! Most pipeline workers worked 2 wks on and 2 wks off. Lots of pax and cargo traffic then.

Depart DCA at noon to IAD, depart IAD at 12:40, arrive SLC at 3:25. The later flight was a 5:25 DCA departure feeding a 6:05 IAD departure, with and 8:50P SLC arrival.

They also had 4x daily 733 service between LGA and BOS, feeding an SLC nonstop from BOS.

DL had a variety of flights out of FAI over the years.

My first ever flight was a DL 727 from FAI-ANC-SLC in 1989.

I remember in 1992 or 1993 taking a DL 727 from LAX-PDX-ANC-FAI as well.
