Pakistan is seeking approval from Saudi authorities to allow direct flights from Pakistan to the holy city of Medina for Hajj next year, the services will be in addition to the Jeddah Hajj operations. The service is to be by either PIA, Saudi Arabian Airlines or a charter carrier, if PK get the route will it be the first time a foreign airline will serve Medina? SV already operate scheduled 777 flights to the city from Karachi.

According to a news report today PIA have made a profit for the first time in so many years, plans are underway to restart cargo flights too and the lease of a 747 combi is also being considered, on the domestic front Khuzdar may be terminated from the network, the town is served by F27 where as Bahawalpur airport maybe upgraded to accomodate jet aircraft and an Arab Emir who's a regular in the region during hunting season has offered to finance the upgrade.
