Schedule as follow:

HM086 SEZ1540 – 2010AUH2140 – 0940+1HKG 332 247
HM087 HKG1855 – 2325AUH0200+1 – 0635+1SEZ 332 135

I wonder why through AUH? I'm pretty sure HM is not gonna get a whole lot of traffic between HKG and AUH, anyone knows the reason behind such routing? AFAIK, all other African based airlines have routed themselves through BKK to HKG.

Hong Kong is not China. Not better or worse, just different.

The flight AUH-HKG will no doubt be in partnership with Etihad which owns 40% of Air Seychelles.

It seems a very odd routing; I presume they have done a codeshare with EY (which does not yet fly to HKG) and this is why they've gone via AUH; I'd be more concerned about getting pax from HKG to fly to SEZ via AUH, which seems like a very indirect routing.

Still, good luck to them!

Despite the stop in AUH, HM / EY will offer the quickest flight time (on both directions) on HKG-SEZ-HKG compared to EK and QR.

It is a codeshare flight EY4121/4122 - HKG-AUH is bookable.

Yes they do already, sort of - EY928/929 - freighters chartered from others.

There is no direct flight between HKG and SEZ (yet ?)
The number of visitors from HKG to the Seychelles doubled between 2010 and 2012.

Now on a side note, I remember BA in the 80s used to fly between JNB and HKG (and maybe NRT) with several stops including CMB and either SEZ or MRU, I do not recall exactly.. Can someone help here ?

I haven't seen any new photos of the Air Seychelles A330-200 since the first photo came out. Has this aircraft not been flying all that time (since August 2012). See below photo:

Azure, yes BA did fly JNB-SEZ-CMB-HKG weekly with a 747-200, and I recall the service ended around 1986. At HKG, there was a flight number changed and it went on to do HKG-TYO-ANC-LHR.

Very exotic!
