Why have NWA and KLM removed their "partnership logo" from their airplanes as it can be observed in the above picture. Have they terminated their alliance?
Twinjets...if one fails, work the other one twice as hard!!!

They haven't removed the logo. I live in MSP, and just returned from Europe, connecting in AMS flying both NW and KLM. I saw the logo everywhere. In fact, I think KLM promotes the alliance even more than NW does.

First of all pardon my spelling mistake above!
Second, the new planes being delievered (recently 2 A319's) as well as planes that have been coming out of the paint shop have not had the decals.
I think there is a new logo that is under development. I remember my BF saying he saw a prototype logo that included Northwest, Continental, KLM and Alitalia.
That has since been thrown out. Either way, here in DTW I have seen increasing amounts of aircraft with out the alliance decal on every time of aircraft.

I think a new logo will show up once NW/KLM get their global alliance act together.

It is true, the alliance seal is being removed from a/c. It seems as they are delivered new and current planes come out of repainting, the decals are removed. My guess is that the NW/KLM alliance is growing and no longer includes, only KLM and NW, so they're stopping that avenue of advertsing. I would imagine a new logo is in the works and will be something that will include all the member airlines. No official word though, in red tailed land with what's up.
By the way, KLM/NW have had their "act" together far longer than any of the other frilly alliances that have popped up. Remember NW and KLM have pioneered the idea of an alliance and still boast the most fully intergrated alliance in the industry. They may not have a million partners covering the globe, as they are taking their time building meaningful relationships with alliance carriers. It's too bad that Alitalia ditched NW for DL.

Actually, now that I think about it, I think I saw a very new 319 with the decal on it, the other day in DTW. INteresting... they're gone, now coming back.
