I was just looking at the seat plans at emirates.com. Even their business class on the 330 is 2-3-2. Most airlines have it as 2-2-2. And if you look at the photo, the seat pitch doesn't look that great.
Is this why they can provide such cheap flights? But then, isn't this inconsistent with their high levels of service?

You are correct.
The Emirates business class is sub-standard across the board.
On 777's, economy class is 10 across (3-4-3), the result being VERY narrow aisles (2 people can't pass).
I've never flown their A330, but I have been told the pitch on board is terrible.
I think Emirates management hopes passengers will be too occupied looking at their video screens to notice the cramped space. Pity- great food and entertainment.

I think that Emirates are somehat overrated, while Emirates is a great airline, it's not the best especially in the premium cabins (F&C). The airline definately needs to upgrade their premium cabins, they're falling behind, but supposedly their service is great so that makes up for it!

I agree with everyone here. I flew C class last month on thier 332's and 772's and the seat pitch is much lower than other airlines. The width though was ok, probably on the narrower side though. This is too bad since they have it pretty much set in every other way, great food, entertainment, service, and aircraft.

THis is the only downside to Emirates, shame but it is true that peopel are occuiped by the PTV's, the service and food. I always prefer to sit in the asile if I don't get a window seat. It's annoying on the 777 window though if you want to get out having to cross over 2 people. The A330 is good, with 2-4-2 in Y Class. Only have to get over one person.
Just a question, may seem wierd but in the A330, the cabin seems to be more brighter than the 777. Anyone notice this?
