I wouldn't hold my breath on a merger announcement today . Although I do know Doug Parker few to DFW on Wednesday evening after announcing 4th quarter /2012 finacial results and flew back to PHX Thursday afternoon .. Not sure what that could mean .

They were approved by a judge a couple of days ago to further finalize their Major Boeing and Airbus orders. God hope its them firming their 787s at least.

Wow, so we are now posting rumors based on what our seat mates say? Delete this thread.

Second that, I already suggested deletion. A seatmate can say anything and likely has no idea what they are talking about. Not even sure if there is an AA connection. Waste of time thread.,

Soooooooo.......Doug and Tom got together to look at colors & patterns???

Sorry, couldnt resist. Makes sense that rebranding includes uniforms too. Best to the AA folks...hopefully your consultants will have more sense than ours and no go with the black and charcoal."Inflight Funeral Director" look.

I know I'm impatient, but two years...really? The roll out of the brand, from airplanes to uniforms, as scheduled will take years to complete. By the time everything is re-branded it will be very old news and probably out of style.

My opinion is that things should be happening more quickly than they are and should be capitalizing on the "new American" concept that "won't be so new American" once everything is complete.

AA has got to stop being behind in everything and re-gain it's leadership position at a fast pace.

We are hopeful that once DP takes over, he will dispense with the new livery so we won't be stuck wearing ties and scarves emblazoned with the "new" American Flag, which Horton had apparently been waiting his whole life to redesign.

I'd be willing to bet that the new branding will be part of any merger agreement. I wouldn't expect DP to touch.

What do you want to say now? The creater of the thread was simply asking if what he/she heard was true or not. No harm in that is there?

Looking forward to the new uniforms AA

It will be interesting as to what the pilot uniforms will turn out. While most people inside and outside of AA agree that the F/A and CSA uniforms need some refreshing, most pilots I know are pretty happy with with they have. I seem to remember in the 90s, when the F/As uniforms were last refreshed, the pilot uniforms went to a slightly darker shade of blue. But, that was it.

A while back, I was showing a friend (an AA capain) pictures of my first flight on AA back in 1963 on a Convair 240. The F/A uniforms have changed a lot, but there was very little change to the pilot uniform.

His comment was that they go the uniform right way back when, so why change it.

Perhaps the answer is how he got from PHX to DFW and then back to PHX. Did he fly AA or US?

Is it just me or does it seem that any time a rumored big announcement comes regarding either DFW or AA it always turns out to be nothing. Who can forget the dance thing at DFW years ago that was a supposed major announcement.

Wheels chocks to be painted with exciting new colors

Tugs will be equipped with leather wrapped steering wheels covers to enhance the push back experience.

That would be so cool!

I was thinking the same thing. Colored chocks would be easier to see and steering wheel covers would give more gripping power.

This is boring .. A.netters are only interested in the bad/unfortunante/demise of airlines.. Anything positive receives little attention. example: take a look at the thread AA POSTS Q4 profit.. barely touched, yet anything bad/sad/negative this place lights up like july 4th. Post about the 1billion in employee concession if you want some attention. People LOVE that stuff and will come out in droves to justify negative.

AA ORD

25 ckfred : It could be worse. If AA were run by Steve Wolf, he would have repainted the planes in dark blue. Every airline he's run has gone to a paint scheme t
26 etops1 : UA's uniforms were made by Cintas .
27 JFKPurser : Milemaster: Touche! But at least DP did a more tasteful job of it...
28 exFWAOONW : Waiting until today to announce something that will take two years to come to fruition? Wow.
29 PanAmPaul : Pretty big assumption that DP will take over, don't you think? From what I can see in recent news, were there to be a merger, the question of managem
30 smi0006 : Nice to see AA hired real designers. HOpefully the come up with something high quality, uniform and stylish. Then it will be over to the AA management
31 Beardown91737 : General consensus in these raucous US/HP threads is if LCC takes over AMR, that DP is in charge.
32 RWA380 : As was finally said later in this conversation, speculation is often at the core of many discussions and threads here on A.net, it seems to be the sp

34 fun2fly : I hope they are better than those red tablecloths DL calls dresses. Where are the pictures?
35 Post contains images mayor : I FOUND 'EM.....I FOUND 'EM.......they match the tails
36 fun2fly : Now that, my anet friends, might be the post of the year...hilarious.
37 Post contains images PHX787 : Ahhhhhh speculation out the wazoo... how awesome. Anyway, congrats to AA for the uniforms....However, looks like we won't see much for a couple years.
38 mayor : I figured Flight Attendants on the left, Pilots on the right.........don't want to speculate on ramp, tkt counter or gates.
39 Post contains images questions : They match perfectly with the SCREAMING REDNECK tail. Perhaps they will offer a version in the housecoat design so many overweight US FAs are so fond
40 toobz : Fun2fly..DL has the best uniforms of any US airline. Let's wait and see what AA has in store..red and blue table clothes?
