Here is an early look of the new uniforms for the flight crews;

http://www.airkule.com/default.asp?page=haber&id=13667

What do you think?

-It is a huge depart from the current color palette, but it is not bad. White shirts are not matching,
needs to be a different hue.
-Almost all five outfits not fitting the FAs.
-Guys uniform could very well be worn by Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan.
-Ladies coats, skirts length a foot too long.
-Ladies caps are not flattering.
-If you just look at the middle third of the photo, actually not that bad.

They are still working on it and this photo was shared by someone on the social media.

Oh please god NO! this is HIDEOUS

Please tell me TK scrap this and completely re-invent it - it's like a 60's Air Berlin uniform, only much much worse and SO dated - even AA's uniform is better than this.

The men's colours are quite nice, but the style is dreadful and a turtleneck? really? the 90's ended 20 years ago TK

Truly Awful

Meh,

they don't look like they fit the models and look like it would be uncomfortable and annoying having to wear and work in them for so many hours.

Some of the design elements of the garments themselves I am not a fan of, Turtle necks? Really? who thought that would be a good idea. And the coats look to long.

However the colours I do like. I feel this ares is a big improvement on the current uniform, which is very generic looking and does not say "Turkish Airlines" I saw a Turkish crew walking through PEK last year, I had to follow them and see what aircraft they got on to work out who they were.

It looks as if they made their uniforms out of Persian carpets. Horrible and it definitely doesn't suit a modern airline such as Turkish Airlines.

Also, what were they thinking when they designed the male uniforms? I do not know what's worse, the design or the colour.

Boy I've been going crazy over this on twitter. There are like 3 trending topics over this and a big majority hates it.
It created so much discussion that TK and desiger said the outfits pictured are just a "study". Hideous, conservative, ottoman, unsafe. Thats my opinion.

First these were leaked photos and not the final version. As its being told there are 15-20 variations.

But ultimately in my view, I think its great TK wants to be different and not have generic uniforms.
Some of the most memorable airlines like Singapore or Gulf carriers have uniforms that are quite unique, and TK should also.

With this in mind, its would be very fitting to use history, use of colors and pattern that yes might have Islamic influences to create something unique or Turkish and not the bland uniforms 90% of the industry uses.

Anyhow as both the designer and company have mentioned this project is far from finished and these were not the final products.

Way to conservative/religious looking for a country like Turkey. If they added a headscarf it would be suitable for Iran Air or Saudia.

That was my first thought as well... they could be Saudia's new uniforms. Even current Saudia's uniforms are more "sensual" since women wear pants, so they are tighter (yet they have their hair covered).

Yet Turkey is trying to be a regional powerhouse, and getting closer to other Gulf countries... IMO those new uniforms are very representative when you think that a national public airline is one of the ambassadors of any nation.

This is just horrible... A mix of overdone futuristic (Mr. Spock, men) and back to the 70's (women).
The mens uniform has a round cut turtleneck, while the vest and shirt underneath have a straight cut. Plus trouser, shirt, vest and jacket all have different grey tones.
The womens uniform look like a Christmas present wrapped in carpet; Raincoat variation looks like a Russian preacher, while the winter coat (?) variation looks like above mentioned carpet but sliced in half.

Gosh, what are they thinking?

If I worked for them I would think seriously about changing airlines, I am struggling for a good/nice word to say about about the whole outfit, male and female.
If the airline used a fashion consultant/agency they should be fired.

I quite like them. At least they are a bit (only a little bit) different and I see nothing wrong with Turkish Airlines reocgnizing the older parts of the country's culture as well as the new.

And they're a welcome change from Euro-bland.

It actually makes me feel a bit ill looking at them, and how terribly uncomfortable they would be for the crew too, yuk.

Like others I agree they should express individuality and history as the national airline of Turkey - just not in such a tasteless, ill-thought and un-stylish way.

Well lets hope the final designs are a lot different than the above because those in the article are just unbelievable. For a company such as TK that is trying to aim for a progressive modern and professional product they really could not have got it more wrong. It looks like a group of folk dancers in the Balkans. They could have done so much better and incorporated Turkish design but this is an epic fail. Such a shame. The current uniforms are way way better than these proposed new ones.
