I am fairly new to aviation having been a flying phobic for most of my life. BUT, in light of this and my thin knowledge on airplane systems I have a question...

On newer planes (no dc-9 or older aircraft) would it be possible to put a system in place that if the flight deck were breached or if the pilot hit a "panic button" that the airplane systems could lock out control of the plane and land it safely at a pre-programmed airport?? Sending appropriate alert signals and emergency signals to prepare that airport? To me it seems that with todays technology that this would be possible..

If it were an accidental panic push then some code could be entered to unlock the system..
