Looks like Storm Q has closed the airports in Kansas City. Thunder snow with snow rates of around 2-3 inches/hour has produced large accumulations and visibility of less than 1/4 mile. Be careful out there!
As of this posting, shows it will be closed until 11pm Central 21Feb. MKC downtown was showing only 15 mins ATTM.

While on Skyvector.com early this morning, I saw the storm over mid Kansas. First the news was saying they were in a hurry to finish recovery work at that explosion downtown. Then I saw that they thought it would only be a dusting. Now it looks like a full blown storm for them after all.

I for one am glad to see the officials closing airports rather than try to run themselves into the ground trying to keep everything open. From the looks of it most airlines had cancelled flights yesterday anyway.
