I was watching TV in school today, I heard something about a plane being "just 25 miles outside of Washington", or something like that. What happened to this plane? Was this just a rumor?

This is nonsense. The plane that has crashed, an AA 757 flt. 77 going from IAD-LAX, collided with the Pentagon. The Pentagon is located just across the Potomac River from downtown Washington, no more than a mile or so.
I am 25 or so miles from downtown Washington, near Dulles. I was sleeping at the time of the crash and can tell you that nothing has crashed out here in Fairfax County yet.
Please consult the thread entitled, "AA 757 Crashes Into Pentagon" thread for continuing reports direct from Washington on this crash. Thank you.

Im saying they made a big deal about another plane, 25 miles from Washington and traveling in its general direction. I never said it did happen.

Sorry about misinterpreting you, CleCo...I think everyone's running on high right now, and personally, I'm trying to keep abreast of the latest information on the local newscasts so that I can report it to those who can't see it. My apologies.
All I know is that no further aircraft other than the four that were destroyed this morning have crashed. Another Washingtonian (GoCaps16, I believe) reported something along the lines of what you're asking about much earlier, but the media hasn't mentioned it for upwards of 5 hours. I haven't seen anything around here, and certainly have't heard anything.
