Due to the ongoing issues regarding the B-787s, LAN has officially delayed deploying the 787s on the daily SCL-MAD route, (LA704/LA705), or any other route according to GDS, until 30JUN13. B-787 service was scheduled to begin on the SCL-MAD route starting on 31MAR13. The A-340-313X is now programmed to continue operating on the SCL-MAD route daily until the end of June.

LAN's two new weekly 787 frequencies on the SCL-MAD route scheduled to launch on 31MAR13 have now been cancelled until further notice, (LA708/LA709). Also, planned daily A-340-313X service on the SCL-LIM-LAX route, (LA600/LA601), from 31MAR13 through 30JUN13 has also been cancelled. The B-767-300ER will continue to operate on the SCL-LIM-LAX route daily until 30JUN13.

It seems the cancellation is going even further... I'm booked on GRU-LIM-LAX in July 13th (LIM-LAX originally on the 787), returning July 25th. For the past few days, when I access the booking the outgoing flight has just disappeared. The return is OK as the LAX-LIM is scheduled to be on a 767.

Slightly OT, but does anyone know how many of the LA 767's currently feature the new 787-style J class? And do the updated aircraft deploy only on certain routes or are they flown throughout the network?

LAN deploys them on routes from SCL, i.e. SCL-BOG, SCL-CUN-MIA, SCL-GRU, SCL-IPC, SCL-EZE, SCL-JFK, SCL-LAX, SCL-LIM, SCL-LIM-JFK, SCL-LIM-LAX, SCL-MIA, SCL-PUJ-MIA, etc.
Id say the opposite, id say LAN are not putting their future programme with the not knowing at risk and 'IF' the 787 comes back into play beforehand, then its an extra resource.... But at least LAN & its customers know where they stand...!

Thanks for the info SCL767! I'm booked to fly from NYC-SCL next month in J. Is there anyway to tell from the seatmap display if the aircraft has the 787-style J class or is the configuration the same as the existing J class?

There's no way to tell since both configurations are exactly the same, (CC-BDD did operate JFK-SCL yesterday).

Your welcome. LAN is deploying the brand new B-767-316ERs on routes to JFK, LAX, and MIA this month. It's highly likely that your flight will be operated on a brand new B-767-316ER. CC-BDE is currently operating JFK-SCL and CC-BDJ is currently operating SCL-JFK.
