Just curious if anyone else in US cities have current fighter patrols. Here in Phoenix, there are some fighters circling high overhead in a big oval. I live in the East Valley and was surprised to hear jet engines. They are too high to ID with binoculars for sure, but look to be F-16s.

Today coinencides with the aniversary of the Camp David Accords. This may be why whomever is responsible chose today to unlease their cowardly act of terrorism. This is a grim day and one that will never be forgoten by those who saw the events unfold before our very eyes.
Light the fires at the end of the runway may it guide our lost pilots home to rest.

We have at least 2 F-15s flying over the Seattle area. Not sure where they are from. Could be Fairchild AFB near Spokane. This evening a Coast Guard helicopter was flying and one of the F-15s intercepted the Coast Guard chopper. It took a very aggressive offensive posture and after about 5 minutes it left the Coast Guard chopper alone. Probably just double checking on its identity.

Over Orange County, California within the last 1/2 hour, one or two solo fighters are circuiting at over 20,000 feet with afterburners on. They have come from the east, then turn south and back east again. There are high thin clouds, broken to overcast, depending upon the sky quadrant, which make spotting difficult. It is midnight here, and even though I cannot see them, I can follow the sound with my ears. This has happened at least three times now. I know that sound from attending plenty of air shows. Otherwise the skies in the Los Angeles area are totally empty of aircraft.

There are quite a few pilots who where out in the bush up here because hunting season is going on right now. they wouldn't have any idea what has happened. So they are taking out of all sorts of bush strips like nothing is going on.
I have had to listen to F-15's from Elemendorf buzzing my house the whole day going out to intercept them.

Fresno (FAT) is home to the Air National Guard's 144th fighter wing. While I haven't noticed any fighters circling the city, the number of takeoffs has increased starting last night and continuing today. I have heard rumors that the unit is on patrol in other areas.
