Airbus should wash their hands of 'customers' like this. They have more than enough genuine orders to keep them going.

This is about leased planes, not new orders from Airbus. PIA in fact has no outstanding orders with Airbus.

All used aircraft were to come from Jetstar Asia.

One day perhaps PIA might have competent and commercial management !

Suppose so however pretty soon they won't have many airworthy frames left at current attrition rates

Did they give any reason why the sale was cancelled? Was it financial - or other reasons?

How many airworthy 737s do they have in operation now?

Well they might, Not sure if you've seen this photo but the description is of interest, though it remains to be seen if it actually happened:

Surprise! they have tendered today for A320 and ATR simulators, so I guess they will be getting the Airbus but from somewhere else.

Only two 737s remain in service, a fourth one is phased out and on sale to scrappers, parts from that may get the third one flying again.

the 320s were coming from Jetstar Asia as rutnkard said.

initially they said the v2000 egines were not right, then they said they wanted newer aircraft, now they might be having finabce issues at the same time they are planning to bring in new uniforms for which they have also sought designers.

IMO, if the cost of new uniforms is a major factor, then they really HAVE got problems.

Reports out that Pakistan Government grounds PIA and seizes bank account a mid tax claim.

No wonder the 320 leases have been cancelled.
