According to flightradar EK 609 on 17 March was operated by A380 A6-EDB, or do flightradar screw up information at times?

Unlikey that was the case. FlightRadar and sites like http://www.radarbox24.com track aircraft using ADS-B transmissions which send out the aircrafts Mode-S code, this unqiue code is used to then work out the registration of the aircraft and hence the aircraft type.

Sometimes the lookup is not always accurate due to mistakes in the database or a error transmission.
