I was looking at some Labor Day weekend flights on UA from IAH and have noticed quite a few destinations that have been using some sUA equipment more and more seem to be loaded in the schedule as primarily sCO equipment. Places such as IAH-SFO, LAX, SAN,SNA, PHL, PDX and SEA are for the most part all sCO which has me curious if UA is bringing the sCO birds back to IAH.

Might these be dummy loads this far out or what is taking place?

Thanks for any help in advance.

I am curious as well, maybe UA thinks its sCO fleet will be better there since they are maintained there too. Or maybe they are dummy loads.

There are more than ever Airbii at IAH and PW powered 757s. Cross-fleeting is alive and well in Houston. In fact, all but two flights on IAH-SNA are A320s, the other two are 738s.

sCO birds back to IAH

Many 737s have been traded to sUA hubs, most notably DEN and SFO, in return for more PW 757s and A32x going to IAH and EWR.

Slightly OT, but where does UA send the sCO 752s out of IAH? I actually think that it could be utilized better out of IAH than what is at now.

Are you sure they fly them to LGA? I haven't seen a sCO 752 in LGA in a long time. A few weeks ago I saw a sUA 752 pushed back for IAH.

I saw a video on youtube that was filmed on one landing at LGA from IAH. But it could have been from a while ago though.

Without checking the timetables I'd say that you'd probably only see the sCO 757s to LAX and EWR.

The 757s to BOG are indeed sCO RR powered 757s.

Did you even read the original post? I checked Labor Day weekend schedules as I know the sUA stuff is flying out of IAH quite often, much more so than even six months ago.....thus my question! If you check the 8/30 schedule to the locations I refer you will not find any bus equipment and only one lone PW ghetto bird.

They certainly are, just check the seat chart and tail number to tell.

Yep, only the first LAX flight, EWR shows the 1045 flight as a B772 on the day I checked it, but the 1730 flight from EWR to IAH is a sCO B752.

That's sort of what I thought and exactly what I am finding as I look in the middle to late part of June. Quite a bit of sUA metal and then mid July almost all are sCO in the schedule. Darn!

ROC now has 73G/738/739 from ORD when we only used to get the A319/20's. Before that, ROC didn't get 737's since UA retired the 300's and 500's.

Whatever is going on, United may be one of the feww carriers that could show declining traffic out of a fortress hub city that created 120,000 jobs last year. No wonder UA lost money in Q4 2012.

We're talking about what's going to happen in six months. Not even the airlines are able to predict that.
