Why Did Air New Zealand Refuse To Enter Talks?

Air New Zealand had a number of interested parties but refused to enter talkes with any one other than Qantas. They even refused to talk with the Ansett Pilots Association.

We have to make Air New Zealand and the NZ Governement pay for the destruction of an Australia Icon since 1965.
