Hello!

My colleague also got stuck with Scandinavian flight 911
(B767-300ER) in Halifax. He spent some days in a gymn
with 3000 other people!!!!

But anyway he told me the Canadian officials and people in general were abolutely friendly and helpful.

Today he returned to Copenhagen and from there to Stuttgart.

Best regards!

That runway looks pretty crowded. Imagine if a jet would have to make an emergency landing on that runway.
Cool pics!

Matter of fact, how to go THAT close to take all those shots when the security is heightened?

Nice photos! I've got some good ones of stranded aircraft in Edmonton. I've uploaded them to airliners.net but as usual most of them will probably be rejected. So if you want to see them send me an email to boeing764@hotmail.com and I'll send you my album on ofoto.com.

Hey all,

Well, A380, if you are an airline employee or airport employee, you should be able to gain access to the airside to get great pictures like these (with the proper identification of coarse).
I work for AC at YYT, and I parked about 19 or 20 of the 25 diversions we had here.
I was able to get about two rolls of pictures the next day of all the planes that came here. We had the same kind of setup as YHZ, except probably a little closer. We packed all those A330's, 767's, 777's and 757's in nice and tight (probably 10-20 ft apart).
There was tight security at the airport. We had to get past a police checkpoint. If you had airport passes, then there was no problem.
On the ramp, there police SWAT teams with automatic weapons. That was different!!!! However, since we worked the planes, we were allowed to get close to them, but we still had to be careful. We were not allowed to open any of the doors of the a/c or we would be in big trouble!! It was a very different experience to say the least!!

I knew there was some demand for Halifax, but I didn't realize there was that much demand for it.  Smile. Somebody go down there and get as many shots as you can and post them up here!

If it weren't for the types and airlines in the photos, I'd swear I was looking at pictures of MZJ or MHV. That has to be more aircraft on the ground at YHZ since WWII. How long did it take to get them all off the ground?
