We've had lots of topics regarding your best experience when flying. Now its time for the other memorable ones. Mine was just recently. I posted it a couple of days ago. It's entiteled (sp?) "I'm Back"
Share your worst experience with the rest of us. Try to mention airline, seat assignment, aircraft and length of flight. I don't work for any airline so, This isn't meant to benefit any one company/airline.

I had a bad experience,That i will neverforget. We took off from san juan PR,on a eastern L-1011.I was seating on the right side of the a/c,on a window seat just behind the wing. The flight was full and this was somewhere between 1978 or1979.Destination was miami. At about 400or 500 feet after take off,the right engineflamed out!!!.White smoke from the extinguisher came out and we felt the sudden drop in altitude in our stomach. After crew dumped some fuel,we made a safe emergency landing back in sanjuan.

Landing at Gothenburg Landvetter in heavy fog. I thought we were descending through the clouds when all the sudden the plane bounced, the engines were roaring and everything shook like hell. After a while I saw the lights on the runway and understood that we had landed, but dammit those seconds were the worst I ever spent as a passenger.

Was not an experience of mine but interesting enough to share it with you. Two years ago, I took the plane with Air Liberté (IT) from ORY to BOD and we had an annoucement saying that we would board with 2 to 3 hours late. Like usually in the same case, some people started to complain around me, except one guy, staying very cool. I asked him why he wasn't complaining and he told me that 3 hours more would not change anything for him ; he already was 2 DAYS late (!) because of the same compagny (was coming from SXM if I remember well). I asked him if what he had to do in BOD wasn't to urgent and he told me that he just lost his parents in a car accident 2 days ago, that's why he took the plane so urgently and that they just were buried yesterday. So he missed the ceremony due to the delayed arrival time (or day?!).
One more thing, Air Liberté didn't pay for the hotel at ORY he had to pay himself and he just had one meal and one drink free!
I can only say : congratulations to you Air Liberté!!!

My worst and thank God only experience was when i was travelling from Barbados to San Jaun Puerto Rico on an American airlines Luxury liner. The flight was an hour and a half from BGI to San Jaun, we took of normally flew normally and upon trying to bring the landing gear down it wouldn't move. We then started to circle. We circled about 10 times before the captiain came on to tell us what was wrong. But he still kept trying and nothing would happen. He then decided that we would have to crash land and when I heard this I nearly died of a heart attact rather than the crash landing. So upon approach the captain kept trying and jsut before we touched down the gear came down. The captain said that we where about twenty feet from the ground when this miracle happened. So today I thank God that I am hear to tell this to you.

My worst flight was on board Malaysia Airlines flight MH785 from KUL to BKK on one of their new A330 , the flight was quite smooth ( only that the big screen did not work and it was the safety demonstration demonstrated by the FA ) I look in my seat back pocket and found that everything was missing , no inflight magazine , safety card or barf bags , I asked the FA for some and she said she'll be right w/ me... an hour pass and she didn't show up.. well that was normal... but as the food began to serv on everyone's table , this big turbulance occur throwing food and drinks all over the cabin , the FAs piled on the cabin floor , appearently the Fasten Seatbelt sign was not switched on and me who didnt buckle up sincei just came back from the toilet , hit the window ( well stupid me really ) ... i was injured.. I quickly asked for some ice for my forehead.. instead replied a cold attendant " Can't you wait? Can't you see I'm cleaning up all these trays on the floor?" that was when I decided i wouldn't fly MH any more.. but who knows it might be better on my next flight... here's a picture :
