I'm on DL flight 4478, ORD-SLC, delayed 5hrs due to a broken windscreen from FOD blown by an A-380 according to our pilot. Apparently this happened last night during taxi into the gate. Has anyone heard about this? What airline flys an A-380 to ORD?

ORD cannot handle the A380 as of right now due to the wingspan and size. The 747-8 is the largest I have seen out there and even that has issues when taxiing. The A380 has been to ORD before it entered into service when LH flew it from JFK. It must have been another widebody aircraft that did that.

No, it wasn't a 380 supposedly it was IB's 346. That was actually one of the flights I worked yesterday.

Does the pilot not know that ORD does not get any A380?

More importantly, does the OO pilot not know the "big" difference between a A346 and A380?

I think LH is the best bet for A380 service to ORD.

So who is responsible when something like that happens? Or does OO call Allstate and tell them they have a cracked windshield? Lol.

LH can't send its 748 yet, right? Obviously an A380 isn't coming anytime soon, either!

Happened on taxi out. Can't notice what isn't there before it happens.
