I think you are right. I have been waiting for a picture of it as it should have been out of the paint shop for at least a week by now. Can't wait for the HD version.

Yes, it will have a US registration as it is financed by ILFC. Three 787-8 will be ILFC financed, other -8s will be fully owned. I am not sure about the six -9s.

We all in Mexico can't wait for an HD pic too.

Thanks to the great Matt Cawby and all the "firsts" he has brought us.

Qantas just announced they are expecting their 788 (LN 123) in September so I would think Oct 1st is definitely possible for LN 115. It has to be painful to see pictures of the 'finished' aircraft in May and have to debate whether or not they will have it in time for an Oct 1 service launch   .

Yes, but in fairness, the same thing is going on with BA's A380. It rolled out several months ago, sat around, eventually got painted a few weeks ago, and is scheduled for delivery in..... August.

U.S. Lessors have had some interesting experiences down in Mexico trying to repossess birds that were on the Mexican (XA-) registry...   Keeping an N-number on the aircraft keepss the ownership straight.

With ZA319 airborne on its B-1 that's 10 in little over a month at PAE and with the AOG teams returning to help out at home, delivering 10+/- a month for the rest of the year at both facilities is well within reach, finishing up the year at 75 +/- as predicted by NYC777 -- maybe a couple more.

Post contains images kiffy : And here she is passing the Jersey coast en-route to FRA... Very happy to see that on the flight tracker!
tortugamon : What a great picture. Heading to Frankfurt. Picking up gas or some passengers I wonder. tortugamon
KarelXWB : Not one but 2, LN30 (Air India) and LN36 (China Southern). Strangely enough, LN21 (JAL) went back inside.
Post contains links tortugamon : 11 is in the bag!! CX wants their bird ASAP. I think they can do 12 and break the record month: Here is the 12th: LN103/ZA466/A7-BCE. Matt calls it A
zkokq : It will be interesting if Airbus sells all bar one frame then. Boeings Orig plan was to only keep one.
Post contains images Dan23 : A7-BFE pictured there is a 777
tortugamon : Woops
hkcanadaexpat : As much as i appreciate your enthusiasm for the record in monthly deliveries, it will be difficult. So far the record for first flight to delivery is
7BOEING7 : Post battery, yes, but if my records are right UAL ZA290 did 10 days (10/20-10/30) and UAL ZA285 did 14 days (12/13-12/27) -- 4 days and 6 days B-1 t
NYC777 : That's a 777.
hkcanadaexpat : You're absolutely right. Upon further check, the record is 10 days by ZA 290. that still doesn't get us to the 8 days needed for A7-BCE or others cur
Post contains images tortugamon : It does not help that the image I was looking at was a 777 (A freighter I might add ). I think you are right A, looking very unlikely at this point.
NYC777 : ZA120 is being delivered today and should leave later tonight from Paine for Japan. ZA273 was supposed to be delivered today but there are some techni
KarelXWB : Also from NYC777's blog, LN11 / ZA800 has been pulled out of storage and is now parked in front of the EMC. This one will go to Transaero.
Post contains links KarelXWB : Here is a picture showing LN30 (VT-ANE) with engines attached: http://paineairport.com/kpae6387.htm LN25, LN26 and LN28 are now all inside: http://pai
NYC777 : Yup still painted in ANA colors. That'll change in about 8-9 months from now.
Post contains links NYC777 : Looks like ZA450 will be doing a C-1 flight in about an hour: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/BOE450
7BOEING7 : Actually I believe this is the C-2. The profile flown on the 19th looks like the C-1.
Post contains links KarelXWB : The C1 flight is a bit delayed. http://twitter.com/mattcawby/status/348101325239758850
7BOEING7 : If they are doing a C-1 today I would really expect them to file to MWH and back not just down the coast and back but maybe. Flight on the 19th must
NYC777 : Matt Cawby is reporting that it's a C-1 flight.[Edited 2013-06-21 10:02:33]
Post contains links KarelXWB : Norwegian EI-LNA (LN102) delivery set for June 27: http://twitter.com/mattcawby/status/348173401472516097
tortugamon : I am trying to gain a better understanding of what happens when a recent production 787 rolls out of FAL. Point me to a thread if you guys no of any o
7BOEING7 : I respect Matt too, but a one hour flight up to altitude and back down without any airspeed deviations (high and low) would be the first of its kind
KarelXWB : You've given much of the answers by yourself. Outside they do communications checks, painting, initial engine run, calibration test, pressure testing
United787 : IMHO, there are three things going on with the 787s that have resulted in such a bottle neck of "completed" aircraft waiting for delivery: 1. The bat
Post contains images 7BOEING7 : Preflight prep covers testing of the completed airplane up until it is released for the B-1. Taxi tests are accomplished as part of the B-1 profile.
BlueSky1976 : SP-LRD on the way to WAW now. LOT9787.
sweair : 6 so far in june? Will BAs 2 frames make it? DY will get one too and Hainan. So 10 for june?
hkcanadaexpat : And maybe 1 for China Southern so possibility of 11 at the top end. See reply 244. A
7673mech : Preflight: -Fuel dock - first fuel - first APU run (checking for fuel leaks). This does not happen in factory. -First engine run. -Completing traveled
tortugamon : Thank you for all of the feedback guys, very helpful. So a rough timeline for the entire process is: Rolls off FAL - Day 1 Paint Shop -Day 8 - 12 Pre
tortugamon : Thank you 7673mech. This seems like the issue right now with the 787. 3 seems to be a minimum but its not unusual to see 5+ flights before its ready
hkcanadaexpat : Before the grounding, the stats at PAE averaged out to the following (and were trending lower): - from out of FAL to into paint: 6 days - inside paint
7BOEING7 : It has very little to do with whether a customer is "seasoned" or not -- it has everything to do with the individual customer. Some customers develop
KarelXWB : BTW any idea why LN21 went back inside the EMC? It was seen at the fuel dock with engines attached more than a month ago.
Post contains links 7BOEING7 : Now this looks like the C-1 for BAB ZA450 -- depending on what the "speed/altitude" graph looks like for the flight to KMWH, we'll be able to tell for
tortugamon : You are keeping some excellent records A. Very impressed. So hkcanadaexpat is showing a +5 day turnaround between B-1 and delivery if it is not new c
7BOEING7 : Let's look at some data on approximate days and number of flights from B-1 to last C flight: GUN ZA380/ 34/ 6/ EWA + delay + multiple C flights JAL Z
tortugamon : Thanks for putting this together. You don't think that it is odd that the three aircraft that required the most test flights happened to be the first
7BOEING7 : With BAB ZA451, although they had 4 flights between the B-1 and the C-1 (which were some combination of B and EWA flights), IF they have no more flig
Post contains links NYC777 : ZA576 flew a second flight (C-2) this evening but is now being routed from Moses Lake to Boeing Field, anyone know why? http://flightaware.com/live/fl
Post contains links iowaman : Due to length of this thread, here is part 16: 787 Production/Delivery Thread Part 16 (by iowaman Jun 22 2013 in Civil Aviation)
tortugamon : Right, my comment was in regard to non June deliveries. I already market that one down for June: Ok, just a coincidence then and maybe a couple EWA f
