FX B763F's On Order - New Or Converted Pax Frames?

I'm reading the June 2013 issue of Airways, with a directory of US cargo carriers. FX shows 46 B763F's on order (2014-2018). Are these new aircraft from Boeing, or converted pax airline birds?

If they're new, is Boeing fitting the B777-style panel to these, or the older/original semi-glass panels?

Thanks....

I have read that FedEx has ordered 27 new 767-3S2ER freighters.
They also have deferred 11 777-FS2 freighters.

I believe they're getting the same cockpit as the tanker which is similar to the 787 -- see previous discussion.

With the downturn in the air freight market and FX contracting for belly space on other airlines, do you think FX might want to defer deliveries which might create a hole in the assembly line that someone (like maybe Delta) might jump on to place a top off order where they could get early delivery of 10-20 frames?

I know that rumor is on-going, but I was posing a question and responding to Reply 4 which was in regard to 767's. Not sure I understand your reply to my post. DL could do a top off order for 767's and still order A321's and A330's if they had an opening in the 767 line and chose to.

I find it unlikely DL would place a large 767 order when they're rumored to be placing a decent A330 order and they have a large 787 order on the books.

Plus the 767s for FX are to replace MD-10s so FX may still take the 767s on schedule due to their superior operating economics which would mean no available slots for DL - at least not in a significant number.

While certainly nothing is set in stone, I think it would be more likely that FX would keep their delivery schedule and merely accelerate the MD retirements. The 767 order / MD retirement allows FX a nice flexibility to match capacity with demand.
