I think cockpit visits will be possible no more due to this
terrible attack. In the U.S. it wasn't possible before to visit the flightdeck during flight, on the ground it was.

In other countries it wasn't prohibited to visit the cockpit during flight, depending on the flightcrew's decision.

All this will belong to history right now, I think you will be even a "suspicious" person when you ask the flight attendant for y a quick look into the cockpit!

What do you think?

Well even if I risk to be looked at as a bad guy... I'll try to get into the cockpit when I fly AMS-GRU in 3 weeks on KLM... I hope it will work! Havn't been in a 744 cockpit for 6 years now!

Maybe they will handcuff you first in the future when you are visiting the cockpit.  Sad

KLM announced on the 12th all cockpit visits are banned effective immediate.
Pilots lock your doord from the inside. No mention about F/As, but I guess the pilots have to take a boxed lunch from now on instead of being served.

I wish I were flying

Remember UA 232? If it weren't for the deadheading pilot that was in the pax cabin being able to gain quick access to the cockpit and provide an extra set of eyes/hands for Al Haynes and company, who knows what might have happened?

There are two sides to every coin...
