About an hour ago an Atlantic Airways aircraft crashed at La Aurora Intl. airport in Guatemala City, the aircraft aparently los one of it's engines at takeoff, they where heading to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The probable aircraft crash was a Let-410. At least 5 people are dead and 6 are injured.

Scary, I spotted both crashed aircraft alife and flying on my Guatemala/Mexico trip last May. I considered flying a Let-410 because it's quite a rare aircraft but it didn't happen.
The Let-410 is technically a fairly good aircraft, but it's notorious for their sketchy second hand dealings, you can pick up old Lets registered in small African countries, without any documentation, overhauled with unapproved parts... Especially the Mexican accident will make the local authorities scrutinizing this specific aircraft, I think.
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?
