I'm one of those AvGeeks really excited about Airbus' A350XWB jet first flight and I'm really hoping it gets to attend the Paris Air Show. Thinking about it, and knowing that "nobody" is sure of its appearance on the air show, I'm wondering if all of that "nobody knows"-statements are actually a plan to hide what might be the best-kept secret in aviation history. What I mean is that the A350 will DO make an appearance at the air show, but Airbus wants to surprise us all in getting it in there.
So, the purpose of this thread if to discuss about and share any rumors or anything anybody knows about its possible appearance on the air show.
A question was put to Airbus during the first flight coverage if the rumour of 10 hours flight time was required before going to the air show. That said that was not correct, they (Airbus) just need to be happy with it. They said they will not do the second flight until the data from the first flight has been analysed.
Flight testing is based upon safety, not marketing.

If the weather conditions are good, MSN1 could fly again tomorrow after a four-day maintenance check. The second flight will take around 6-7 hours, the crew will perform high and low speed tests and take the plane up to 43,000 feet. If this flight is uneventful, MSN1 could fly to the airshow on Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

I think Zeke nail it here. Airbus has a lot of data to analyze from the first flight. Please remember, these are strictly test flights and not marketing flights (which a fly by the PAS would be). After the data is analyzed, and corrections to the flight profile and/or airplane itself need to be made, or verified. Right now, I don't think the A-350 can fly over populated areas without regulator approval, in this case the EASA. The FF was flown with parachutes for the crew, and that will be a requirement for the next few flights. We not only have a new airplane, but new engines, too. Yes, at this point the engines have flown more hours than the airplane and are slightly more mature than the airplane, but they are still new engines. Remember the B-787 had engine problems with both the RR Trent-1000 and GEnx 1B engines after EIS, as did the A-380 with the RR Trent-900 engine.

According to la Tribune, "the new long-haul Airbus A350 will perform on Wednesday its second test flight. A prerequisite before a possible third flight over the Paris Air Show this weekend, if weather conditions permit".
