With UA being announced as the North American launch customer for the 787-10 UA put out a press release stating that they have 65 787 either on order or in service. Along with 10 incremental orders for the 787-10 they converted 10 existing 787 orders to the -10. Anyone know specifically what the number of each type on order would be? I am assuming that they converted -8s to -10s but there is also a 5 frame order, from some time ago that seemed to not be reported on here/ was that for the -9?

Quoting STT757 (Reply 1): So if those additional five 787-9s is accurate UA actualy added 15 787s to their existing order., impressive.
Exactly right, somehow they added 5 other units. Boeing's website states only 50
787-8 GE 30-Jun-2005 11
787-8 19-Feb-2010 25 - 25
787-9 GE 06-Jun-2006 14
787 Total 50
I was going to guess that they converted 10 of the PMUA 788's from 2018 and 2019 to 787-10's, but that may not be right. Wonder why they didn't just say we ordered 15 new 787-10's and converted 5 orders vs. 10 new, 10 conversions and 5 789 adds?
