Just contacted by friend on S5 crew they've been sent to basement for tornado warning. Anything from our DEN peeps? All ok?

Denver TV says a suspected tornado touched down east of the airport, and appears to be heading north about an hour ago.

I don't think the airport is/ was in danger from that funnel cloud - but never can tell when another is going to pop out of the clouds.

They sent us all down into the tunnels. Small funnel tried forming. Everything is good now.

Weather Channel website posted a short video of it - it's on an endless loop so you just keep hearing a guy say very non-chalantly "that's a tornado" every five seconds or so

Last Thursday, it was our turn for a supposed tornado touchdown near the airport BWI. All the funky sounding alarms
went off and we evacuated for less than a minute. However the storms were lousy and we had cancelled flights, major delays and hot under the collar passengers (understandably). We have not even hit official summer and the delays and weather have been the worst I've encountered and I've been doing this for 11 years! For another thread in another forum; the weather/climate is changing and not for the better. Whether it's too much cow poop, global warming, sun spots, heat age or whatever it sucks and a day without storms in this country is indeed a day with real sunshine!
