Not a terrible way to open up a new thread: the 787-9 engines have been delivered by RR. Looks like ZB001 may roll out with engines after all.

Was there any doubt about that? The 787-9 program is a complete 180 from when ZA001 was at this point in its final assembly process.

It has been indicated that the first set of Package C engines are actually not even going on ZB001 but ZA004 for testing and that was not supposed to happen until later in July (see article below). If that was the case then I thought there was a chance that it would roll out without engines until a second set were delivered or they will fit ZB001 with Package B engines as they are already rated for 70klbf and swap them out for package C engines later. If I am not mistaken the primary difference in engines is the furl burn anyway. The article linked above specifically said that the engines they were delivering was going to be used on first flight.

Here is the background on the ZA004 getting the first set of RR Package C engines:

Per NYC777:
ZA576 flew a second flight (C-2) this evening but is now being routed from Moses Lake to Boeing Field, anyone know why?

The flight earlier today was a B-2 -- simple up and down to clear previous squawks. The second flight to KMWH and back was the C-1 as identified by the speed and altitude graph -- constant 15,000ft with airspeed deviations prior to descent into KMWH. Return was to KPAE -- initial route to KBFI was a mistake.

I think this showed up incorrectly in Flightaware.
Looks like it was consequently fixed:

Correct - flew B2 around noon and C1 in the late afternoon.
I am told if it requires C2 it will happen early Sunday.

Delivery to happen late in the week.

LN 122 (AM #2) has completed assembly. Its temporarily being stored inside the FAL (where there's room these days!) awaiting its turn outside. should be imminently as LN 118 (LAN) comes out of paint and LN 121 (BA) goes into paint, making room for it.

When is the next NH delivery due?

ANA aircraft positioning at PAE is out of sync so not that easy to predict the sequencing and timing. JA-821A is sitting on the 748 flightline. JA-822A is in storage at the EMC and JA-823A is actually on the flightline. So July should see JA-821A at the very least. Whether JA-823A skips JA-822A and makes it two deliveries for July, we shall wait and see if it stays on the flightline and goes through the motions or is just there temporarily and then gets moved to storage to make space for ealier built frames.

United N29907 and ANA JA-823A are both on the flightline out of sync right now having jumped JA-822A, EI-LNB, G-ZBJC and N961AM. Time will tell whether they are actually jumping or just temporarily hanging out post painting.
