Best first cls - CX
Best food overall - CX
Best enteraintment - CX
For long-haul flights - CX (less boring due to better IE)
Flight Attendents - well... SQ
On time performance - CX (though, current AOA actions and security measures make it worse than before)

I agree with PolAir - they are 3 excellent carriers. Some of us get stuck with having to choose between BA and bmi only for most of our flights - so count yourself lucky to be able to fly with any of the three in question.
Residents in Asia - try flying on many European carriers and you may find yourself not arguing anymore about whether CX, SQ or MH is better.

wow this is a good subject eh
well I've ride with all of theses.. and SQ they were more nice with western... I guess it's the singapore way... CX it's very good too but you can see their cantonese style popping up here and there in the aircraft from time to time... nothing bad indeed
but I would like to know if all of u guys got the chance to try all of the three airline... I still have to try MH for long-haul flight but I have used them in short flight and it was very good, very nice people.....
But something I find that really make SQ overtakes the others it's the overall services... from the relax, chilling Changi airport, to the check in, to the lounge, to all the services they are putting up for the passenger....I see SQ more as an international Carrier versus CAthay who seem to keep this "Cantonese Style" image... that's what make me love SQ....
I may not know all the commercial pratice that they can do but eh... business is business... and I dont want to know that... Im the customer.. and as the customer... my choice will always be SQ...
I flew Cathay between SIN-HKG and HKG-YYZ it I loved it too but you can sense this stressed feeling that get transmitted to the passengers... compared to SQ where they are so relax, so nice, so so so
well maybe it's funny but theses 3 airlines would be the 3 that I would prefer in all the industry (of coz with my country one (Air Canada)) but this last choice is not based on the all the items I mention in this emails...

Best Service - SQ,CX,MH
Best Aircrafts - SQ,CX,MH
Best Entertainment - SQ,CX,MH
Best Menu - SQ,CX,MH
Best Hub - SQ,CX,MH
Best On Time Dep and Arr - SQ,CX,MH
Well of course there are reasons why it's SQ for sure!!
I've travelled on the 3 airlines.....from Hong Kong to Sydney!Usually SQ actually.So....hmmm.....for example...Entertainment!Everyone knows that SQ has Krisworld, the best entertainment system in the air right?CX?No way!Different movies for different classes! Also the radio channels aren't in the correct order as shown in the inflight magazine! And you have to always bump into other's elbow because there's no control panel....just like SQ!You can pull it out...Much much more convenient!
And okay for the time....maybe it's because of the strike, when i took CX110 back to Hong Kong,it delayed for nearly 3 HOURS!!!!And for MH,the pilot said because of the air traffic....so we had to wait for nearly half an hour! But for SQ......on time of course!
And at last but not least the service.Actually...both Cathay and SQ are great! Not like MH...they speak quite poor English...But the thing is that as an international carrier,English is most properly use!Last time when i flew to Sydney on CX,the stewardess used Chinese and speak to me!!What if i don't speak Chinese? How would they know??In mind mind always English first...so......
SQ is the winner!!!

I think U have some serious prejudices for CX! Sure, if U compare the current Krisworld, to the older version of CX's PTV entertainment, Krisworld is better... But hey, U MUST be exagerrating when U say CX's "radio channels aren't in the correct order as shown in the inflight magazine"!!!!!!! It's just that CX, when flying regional, around Asia region, and Internationally, they have diffrent audio channe;s to cater to people of diffrent cultures! If U study the inflight magazine more carefully, it says, very clearly, which radio channel U can listen to, on which plane!
Hey, but CXstudio is going to be way better than Krisworld! Imagine 20 video channels, and Audio AND vidoe on demand for all classes! Haha, U really have to experience it urself. I flew from Manila to HKG, and I didn't finish surfing all the channels available, before the plane landed!
Oh yeah, for SQ, I dunno why, but they sure treat Westerners much, much better. So overall, I would still give it to CX, but MH would be the last.

9v-SPK you are chinese, and flying a HK based airline, that is very common for CX flight crew to use chinese to speak to you, you know 99% HK people speak chinese right? In case you don't speak Chinese, i can sure they can speak very good English to you! All cabin crew can speak a very fluent English!! What wrong with them to use HK 's mother language to communicate with HK 's passengers?

Totally agree with Cathay250. What the h*ll wrong with stewards communicating in Cantonese?!
"...English always comes first...", what kind of prejudice is that?! In the case you don't speak Chinese, the stewards would talk to you in English. You may pretend you only speak English, but well..., I don't think you can.

Well Singapore Airlines already have Wisemen / KrisWorld installed on it's aircraft and are progessively being introduced onto all the fleet (except Celestars and A310s). Seems like another inflight e-mail result!
