I have a cousin who is living in the USA, his parents are diplomats and he usually travels to Dubai each christmas. I am concerned, now even if you are holding a diplomat passport, and if you were traveling outside the USA, and you were behaving normally without any weird behaviour, are they still going to detain you and let you miss the flight just because you look middle eastern or what ever?
I might have to travel to the USA next month, but i am thinking to try and cancel the trip if possible just because of the things i hear in the news about detained passengers who are from the middle east and who turn out to be innocent after being detained. As I know, that there are many Middle easterns living in the United states, Like other people they would have traveled many times and have been on many planes, but these days its all messed up!
what do you think guys? shall i keep my plans of traveling, i am going to reserve my ticket soon.. and Shall my cousin still reserve for christmas and fly? and does the detaining and the denial of boarding for middle eastern people happens on just American Carriers or Other foriegn airliners, or does it happen only in domestic flight or international flights?

No, don't cancel your plans. That is what these animals who did this want you to do!! They are are odds with other Arabs as well as Americans and would love nothing better than to have you cancel your plans because of America's fears right now.
As for traveling in the US, yes Americans are a little skittish about people of different backgrounds traveling with them. However, you can't totally blame them. Everyone is just trying to watch out for themselves. No body should be harmed or interegated from this. However, casual questioning and monitoring doesn't help.
If you are stopped and taken off a plane, just cooperate fully, you seem nice based on your post and I can't see why there would be a problem. Based on the freaked out nature right now of certain people, it is hard to predict if it would happen to you and what airline if any airline at all.

After suffering the wrath of overzealous security last week, I am pleased (?) to report that security is back to its slack assed old self. Just a few minutes ago, I obtained my boarding pass for a flight at DFW without being asked for picture ID and breezed through the security checkpoint without even a question about knives or sharp objects (which I don't have, but they didn't check for 'em either!).
Business as usual? The airport security scare was a typical American reaction. Over react for a week and then forget about it. Guess the attention span of the $6/hr rentacops doesn't last longer than that.

As mentioned above, it is inevitable that there are going to be some jumpy folks, some who react without proper information and som eplaoin bigots. And you'll see that around the world. And, in current circumstances, each and every event of denied boarding is reported with great vigor by the world press.
Remember that there are hundreds of thousands- probably millions- of people of middle eastern descent in the USA, as indeed, there are large chunks of every ethnic population here, and the overwhelming majority are living their lives without controversy.
I'll suggest that, even though I am what some might call "white bread" (being of a random, mostly European heritage with some definite question marks mixed in for good measure), if I were to start acting controversial when flying, making comments about terrorism, being belligerent with staff and generally being an idiot, I'd be denied boarding too.
Just come on, be good-natured, and I bet you'll be rewarded with some of the same in return.
