Just heard from someone working for the Ticketing Department in Hong kong, that UAL's flight from HKG-SIN, as well as from HKG-LAX, will be suspended in October and will resume service in November.

Can anyone confirm this?

And does anyone know why?

Probably because of low load factors as people in asia will avoid US carriers for the time being.

Asians are supersticious.

Well, both HKG-SFO, as well as HKG-ORD will remain in service.

Umm... Maybe. You are right. But many people in the States are quite supersticious and are trying to avoid flying.............

UA would be downright crazy to suspend SFO-HKG. That route is a major moneymaker for UA.

WHY is that???

Seems odd all of those are major international routes.
Is it that bad for UA at the moment?
I'll be interested to find out why this is.

I am ticketed on UA HKG-SIN in December. Are you sure it will only be for a month?

Dear L1011,Flyguy1,

It will not be brought back before December...especially for the UA flight to SIN since they don't make any profit because of nearly up to 20 flights everyday and they only have one flight..And people could choose to fly on her Star Alliance Member Carriers...but for LAX it's hard to say now...anyways they are planning to suspend both routes starting from 1st Oct and latests news is they will NOT just suspend for 1 month.

B.Regards

According to the Ticketing Department, YES, they will be back eventually.......

As for other routes, I think they will be back as well, when the Economy improves.
