B727 Burst Tyre At Luton On Tuesday - Any Info?

Hi,

I was flying from Edinburgh to London-Luton with EasyJet on Tuesday evening (18/09/01) when we had to divert to East Midlands Airport due to a 727 blocking the runway at Luton.

The captain said that the 727, which was being used as VIP transport, had blown a tyre on landing and there was a three hour delay before it was replaced and the runway cleared.

Does anyone have any further information about this?
