I normally don't get into the "favorite" threads in this forum, but this idea kind of got my interest going:

Do some of you have some favorite transitional liveries (in other words, airlines that were merged into other airlines, and had their aircraft partially repainted or retitled, but with the older livery). Here are a few samples I dug up:

TWA to American:

Pacific Southwest to USAir (what a shame):

Couldn't find a Western to Delta photo in the database (I do have one at home). Feel free to add your own ideas. (Must be a merged airline, not an airplane moving from one airline to another).

I kinda like the "TWA to American" scheme. Makes it look like that TWA is taking over American, and not the other way around. Regards.

PEOPLExpress to Contintental when they left the dark brown stripe on and wrote CONTINENTAL in beige letters inside the dark brown. Instead of the PEOPLExpress profiles on the tail, they replaced them with the red meatball that matched the PEOPLExpress red cheatlines. This scheme looked better than the planes from original Continental. Has anyone heard of a hybrid Air Florida-Midway? I know they operated Air Florida as Midway Express, and that company had its own paint scheme, but was there ever a blue and green Midway plane?

My favourite transitional livery is the British Midland livery of the late '90s with the new "bmi/british midland" logo and titles:

By far not the best photo of it... but a good example. (I have better shots in my collection of that one)

My favourite transitional livery is the BA livery temporarily introduced prior to their "world images" scheme.

Was there ever a Valujet/AirTran transitional livery, or did they just keep the VJ livery until they could get that plane off the line to be repainted?
