Re:KRP

Yep!The 772ER will be delivered to SQ and they will still use to operate Copenhagen,Jeddah and replace the A340-300E .Won't affect the changes of aircraft types for the time being ... I'm also waiting for the latest news too!

As far as I know that SIA isn't really doing pretty will on Kaohsiung-Singapore route, and so does China Airlines, there were rumours saying that CI and SQ might code-share on SIN-KHH route.

Phew! At least they are adjusting capacity.

I was afraid they were just going to keep "loss-making" services to save face.

Obviously aircraft usage will drop, but I don't think they are going to ground a plane. Although I hope that they will ground some only if they can't break-even on them

Oh well. All looks well.

Re:Mr.BA

SIA still has 20 772 and 10 772ER's on order, with 23 772 on option.Latest news is that SIA will not cancel ANY orders,as they are planning to replace all the A343E's,which still has 2 left to finish all the orders, and that it will replace all routes flown by the A340,for example Copenhagen,Christchurch,Jeddah and Rome etc.

Best Regards

Chris

Hey Chris,

Thanks a lot for the info. I heard they cancelled the last B744 they have on order. Any idea when the next B777-200 and B777-200ER will be delivered? Heard that 9V-SYF (B777-312) was ready for delivery but however was delayed and I have lost track of it. Anyone knows if it has been delivered to Singapore Airlines?

Thanks

alvin

SIA just increased their frequency to KUL this Summer, I think somewhere in June/July from 9 to 10 daily services. They increased that before to 10 daily services before the economic crisis, but reduced to 9 again. Looks like it's going to be 9 for quite sometime now.

Regards.

Hm...i guess it won't really affect if they cut to nine...you know, the SIN-KUL service are like shuttles...SQ and MH,with nearly 5 flights a day...
I guess SQ are trying to save costs on routes that are making profits but not that high demand!
And yeh glad they didn't cut that SIN-ORD!I don't think they'll cut it for the time-being anyways!

Two questions, if anyone knows an answer ...

Amsterdam
By cutting SIN-AMS-EWR to 3 weekly, flights to AMS will reduce to 6 (with 3 on to EWR, 3 on to ORD) ... any idea if and when AMS is going back to daily?

Ansetts B744
SQ is/was leasing 2 B744 to Ansett ... now that AN doesn't do pretty well, are these planes still with AN or did SQ reposess them. I guess it'd be kinda difficult to lease them out again right away.

For the Ansett...It's been reposessed to SIa,but parked in Sydney and Brisbane for the time being.
