Delta is usually stronger in Ft Myers during the winter than the summer, yet this winter it seems that they are pulling back NYC (JFK/LGA) to RSW flights pretty drastically.
I was looking at JFK-RSW and it appears that the direct is not returning this season, which seems strange to me because every time I flew that route last year it was full, and the tickets weren't cheap, so yields wouldn't obviously appear to be a problem. I then looked at LGA-RSW, which last year saw four daily flights, all on E-170/175 equipment, and there are only two flights per day, both E-175s.
Is Delta really cutting this much capacity from New York to Ft Myers for this winter or have the schedules jsut not been loaded fully yet (it would be pretty late for that to happen)?
Any insight is greatly appreciated!!

There is probably a possibility that they havn't loaded it yet i guess?
Maybe an E170 wasn't low enough per seat cost on this route espeically with Deltas configuration? Its a decent amount of time to tie up the plane and fares are pretty low even in F because of so much competition. Its really a competative route especially with connections and fares are pretty low for the distance and amount of time it ties up the plane.
