MIAMI -- A taxiing jetliner at Miami International Airport returned to its gate and dumped a passenger who ignored instructions to sit down, buckle up and turn off his cell phone, the FBI said Wednesday.

Adrian Fernando Bellocq missed his American Airlines flight to Madrid Tuesday night and was jailed on a federal charge of intimidating a flight crew. The flight got off the ground more than an hour late.

Bellocq told FBI agents after his removal from the flight that he had been drinking and should have paid more attention to the flight attendants' safety warnings.

The jet was on the runway when Bellocq stood up to talk to another passenger, FBI agent Donald Morin said in a court affidavit.

Bellocq refused to return to his seat and got a cell phone call while arguing with attendants after a standard warning to turn off electronic devices, Morin wrote. Once seated again, he refused to buckle his seat belt and wouldn't put his seat upright, Morin wrote.

The flight, BTW, was AA68. For those who don't know, this is becoming common in Miami. AA911 (MIA-SCL) and IB6162 (MIA-MAD) were both escorted back to MIA by F-16s following bomb threats.

I hope they lock that jack arse up for a long time. It is his own fault if he was drunk... Whatever the case, he is at fault for violating federal law by not cooperating with crew member instruction.

I love America. I guess that makes me Bush's poodle, but I'd rather be a dog in New York City than a prince in Riyadh.

I think a week in jail will do the trick. He made a mistake that he will never make again.

I hope the idiot gets a good long prison sentence where he can think about his gross stupidity.

Where is MIA getting these nuts from?

Have you ever been to Miami? If you have you would know it is full of 'nuts'. It's like a lawless 3rd world country.

UAL-Fan Miami has it's share of nuts just like LA, New York City, and any major US city. Your comments were very rude. FYI, Miami has some of the richest real estate and residents in the United States. Third World Country? It has it's ghettos like every city, but it's far from third world.
