Just saw my first DL 717. It just flew past my window here in Miami on it's way to land at MIA. Apparently this is some kind of test flight that left MIA at noon and returned one hour later. Nice looking plane in real life!

We'll probably be seeing a lot of DL 717s at MIA since that's where the company FL uses for 717 heavy maintenance is based at and will be playing a role in the process of getting the FL planes ready for their transfer to DL. Any word if DL will continue to use FL's contractor for 717 heavy maintenance or will they do it in-house?

It would be neat if DL would paint a 717 in the Skyteam livery, also like to see a CR9, CR7, 744, and E175.

I think it is Monday. The plane will not go into service right away. Once DL takes possession there is more that needs to be done. That work will be done in either MIA or VQQ. I think it is mostly inspections by DL reps.

I am looking forward to flying on one. The 717 looks great in the DL colors.

EIS is tentatively scheduled for November. No idea what date though.

It's always great to see something different in at MIA especially a company 717. I can remember flying into MIA on company -3's-------barely--------but, I do remember. I remember taxying past the old out-door mx facility on a -7 and laughing at a couple of -46's in there for mx. There was no shortage of -46's at MIA! Glad to hear there will be no shortage of 717's either.

Why put the SkyTeam logo on the passenger door? It would seem better to put it to the right of the door that way during boarding in the jetway passengers could see it. Just my thought.

This is the same way all the MD-88s and MD-90s are done. I don't think they want it crowding the Delta logo.

True although even on the CRJ's they put the SkyTeam logo to the left of the passenger door, and WiFi on the right side of the door.

Since they were supposed to be originally in service on 19/9 will they have 6 or 7 in the fleet by 01/11?

Really? I guess it's all about taste. I think it looks smart. The 717 will surely be an asset to DL's fleet.

Every airframe will be indoc in either MIA or VQQ. They spend like a week at either vendor and then go into service. The 739 will be going through indoc in ATL at the same time so I think that is why we are using a vendor. The first two should be ready by the tenth of Oct.
